Why to Use a Realtor

See why Dan thinks you should use a realtor.

My wife and I are beginning to look for a new home, which is so exciting. However, shopping for a home, or even trying to sell a home, can be a very stressful thing! It can feel like you’re trying to climb a mountain with no rope – scary! However, when we started this process, we did our homework. Through discussion, research, and advice, we realized that using a realtor, or Real Estate Professional, helps tremendously. I’m working with Drew Tomasik, owner of the Tomasik Group. He’s been very helpful to know what to look for, what tools to use, and when to buy/sell. Through talking with him in addition to my own experience and research, here are my top 5 reasons to use a Real Estate Professional.

Knowledge, experience, and comfort

According to Drew, the average homeowner moves 3-5 times in their life. The average realtor on the other hand processes over 30 transactions a year. Yes, you could do all of your homework and spend hours researching different criteria and minutia in order to try and find the best deal, but a good realtor already has that knowledge. They also provide a level of comfort that you can’t get selling/buying a home yourself. Buying a home by yourself, and especially selling one yourself takes a lot of work! It adds unwanted stress to your life and forces you to use your valuable time on selling/buying. A real estate professional does all this for you, so you can relax, and enjoy the process.

They can get you a better deal

Using a realtor not only reduces stress during the home buying process but can also help you get a better deal. Sure, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then. So you could sell your house at a great price. But more than likely, using a realtor will enable you to sell your house for more than you could on your own, or buy a house for less than you could on your own. They know the best way to negotiate, carry more clout than the buyer/seller, and understand the ever-changing real estate market in a way that allows them to find the best deal.
