Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right. Oprah Winfrey

If you are like me, this quote might resonate with you. When New Year’s comes, all I can think about is the missed opportunities from the past year. Accomplishing most things in life is not easy. Below is a simple list of steps you can take to prepare yourself for the new year.  My hope is that this short list will help encourage you, as you seek to accomplish many challenges throughout the next year.

New Year Cleaning

  • Delete unneeded emails from your inbox
  • Go through stacks of papers
  • Get rid of clutter & unneeded things
  • Clean out your fridge

New Year Organizing

  • Your workstation
  • Computers
  • your resume
  • Closets (so you have room for Christmas gifts)
  • Pictures from the past year
  • Addresses (update & add)

New Year Planning

  • Finish unfinished projects
  • Revamp your budget
  • Reconnect with a friend or two that you have lost touch with
  • Get your receipts together and start preparing your taxes
  • Come up with new year’s goals (begin with a few big ones and create practical steps that will help you get there)
  • Host a holiday party
  • Start a new exercise routine
  • Create a monthly meal plan

But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13b-14
